Joe lives in California below Yosemite with his beautiful wife Angelina. Three talented children are still living at home. Two extraordinary girls married to great husbands and 2 awesome grand-kids and another one on the way.
At the age of eight, Joe started his journey into art. Attending a local oil painting class Joe had a gift of capturing the eyes of a clown. Through out the years he explored different mediums. Water colors, Sculpting, Furniture building, Screen printing, and graphic design.
In the late 80’s Joe opened a sign shop hand lettering signs. The business evolved into a full service shop. Doing everything from sandblasted signs, Gold leaf, Plastic, Electrical and Neon
.
After working with Neon signs Joe became more and more fascinated with shaping glass in the flame. Trying to find information in the late 80’s and early 90’s on lamp work glass was a difficult challenge, so he put his dreams on hold.
In 2007 Joe was out to dinner with a friend and she was telling him about her mom, and that she made beads. Joe thought that’s nice. The friend said it’s really exciting working with molten glass in the torch…. Hmmm, Torch!! Glass!! WOW!! CHECK PLEASE!!!
The dream was reborn. Joe spent several months learning glass types, glass properties, equipment, tools, and methods with his friend’s mom. Who is by the way one of the most knowledgeable, talented, creative person you could have the privilege of meeting. Her name is Linda from gratitude-beads.com
